Leather
Leather has historically been used as an important art medium. From ancient times to the present, artisans have used a variety of tools and techniques to create functional and artistic goods. The main practices associated with leather as an art medium include dyeing, painting, carving, stamping, molding and shaping. At this year’s Sawdust Art Festival discover specialized one-of-a-kind pieces from the wearable works of art of Michelle Waller, to the well-designed purses of Paul Proppe to the artistically rendered handbags of Carrie Woodburn.
